Design the shapes of rooms in your home with care.It is much easier to create balance and harmony when rooms are regular in shape and dimension. If possible, therefore, make all your rooms square or rectangular. As with house shapes,so,too, with rooms:L,U,H or T shapes and traingles all create inauspicious results for the inhabitants.Sloping ceilings are also inauspicious.

Where there areadjuncts to the room, such as dressing areas and adjoining bathrooms or toilets, make sure each of the rooms is regular in shape.Where built-in cupboards are installed, make certain these do not cause any imbalanceby leaving small gaps where Shar Chi can accumulate.

L-shaped rooms are deemed “incomplete”, as you will see when you attempt to superimpose a Pa Kua into the room layout.Depending on te position of the room, the missing corner could well represent one of the things you wish for, such as wealth or improved marriage prospects

                                         LIVING ROOM ARRANGEMENTS

The room layout in feng shui living room  represents good Feng shui. The sofas, chairs, and coffee table are arranged in a Pa Kua shape which is auspicious and balanced.A triangular corner cabinet placed in the top left of the room would be an excellent addition, lending support to the seating arrangement. The paintings on the walls should be representative of good symbolism,or stimulate the element represented by that corner.A painting of plants and flowers could be hung in the wood corner ,for example, or a painting of mountains ifthe corner is represented by the earth element.

A Home Security System Among the List of Tips That Make Your Home More Relaxing

Posted by administrator On July - 17 - 2011Comments Off

There are a few pointers to keep in mind when turning to home improvement projects that aim to give your home a warmer and more relaxing feel.

Making your home more relaxing and more comfortable is done on several fronts. Giving it greater home security is a great place to start. You can also resolve to give your home, both inside and out, more organization and tidiness. Some people enjoy arranging the furniture and other interior items to make the home more Feng Shui. If Feng Shui is not your preferred method of interior design, then at least consider some practical tips for making your home a place of rest and relaxation. There are several specific tips to keep in mind that can achieve the same thing that something like Feng Shui seeks to provide.

First, make your home safer with a home security system and taking other security measures. A home alarm will give you and your loved ones the safety they deserve. It will allow you to relax when asleep or away from home.

Second, give your home’s interior and exterior a good cleaning and organization. Make your home more orderly, even if you are not a naturally orderly person or think it is not necessary for your personal relaxation. Having a more tidy yard also has the added effect of increasing home security, as you will be eliminating overgrown trees and bushes that provide hiding places for burglars.

Third, consider buying a book on Feng Shui and implementing some of its proposals. The practice is based on the principal that aesthetics can affect one’s happiness and peace. Since the placement and order of things and items can affect our peace, Feng Shui says, one ought to consider better ways to order their own home.

Finally, if you’re not interested in Feng Shui and its principles, consider several practical remodeling projects that can work together to promote peace and relaxation at home. Start with the bedroom, where people sleep and recuperate for the next day. Some suggest taking away the TV and making it a place of sleep alone. They suggest taking away the practices of TV watching and eating or reading in bed. It encourages sleep once tucked in bed and can perhaps cut down on the time it takes to fall asleep as well as sleepless nights. Replace the old mattress for a more comfortable one. After all you spend one third of your life in bed. It should be comfortable. Another suggestion is placing accent lights within the home and around its exterior. It not only saves on energy costs to use less light, it may also be more warm and inviting for you. These are just a few of the many things you can do to make your home more peaceful.

Making your home more inviting and relaxing is a project worth undertaking. It does not have to cost a lot either. Start with a good home security system but be sure to move beyond the alarm and implement other measures around the home.

Can Bedroom Colors Influence Your Mood?

Posted by administrator On July - 16 - 2011Comments Off

The bedroom is perhaps the only place in our homes where we can enjoy a little bit of solitude. It is the one place at home where we usually hang-out when we are not busy with chores, work or errands.

This being said, choosing the right bedroom colors is essential since we may have heard time and again that certain colors can actually affect one’s mood, thereby also greatly influencing the quality of sleep we can have every night.

Since there are plenty of color options that we can choose from, picking the right ones for our bedrooms may not be as easy as we’d first thought it would be. After all, once we have selected a specific color or colors, we can’t just easily undo them.

Choosing Color Schemes

If we are unsure of how to go about selecting bedroom colors for each room in the house, there are several helpful tips that we can find online. Even if we are working with a professional interior decorator, it helps to know what color schemes are ideal for bedrooms so we can personally choose the colors suitable for each room, particularly taking into account the people who will actually be using the rooms.

Oftentimes, different color schemes go well with each type of bedroom: nursery, younger children’s bedrooms, teens’ bedrooms, guest room and finally, the master’s bedroom.

These colors can range from simple natural tones, to loud colors or a combination of specific colors. The key here is to choose shades that will inspire the mood that we want to have in our rooms.

Certain colors inspire creativity; others inspire an upbeat mood, tranquility, boldness and even sexiness. We can choose colors based on our personalities, too. From hip and cool to funky and chic; bedroom colors can definitely say a lot about us.

Feng Shui Inspired Colors

For some people, consulting a Feng Shui expert, or at least learning about this aspect of specific colors, is an important factor to consider when deciding on which colors to paint our rooms with.

Feng Shui suggests that using skin tones is ideal for bedrooms. These colors can be anywhere from simple whites to deep brown. Colors such as these, as some experts say, invite good vibes and that they have a soothing and calming effect.

If we choose to follow this advice, we can have our bedrooms painted in single tones or mix two tones in the color scheme to add more variety to our bedroom hues.

Tried And Tested Color Schemes

On the other hand, we can also check-out existing color schemes designed for bedrooms to give us a clearer picture of how our bedrooms will look like if we use any one of these color combinations.

Online, we can find websites that have images of specific bedroom color schemes; and these are put together for specific rooms in the house. So whether we are looking for the right shades for our kids’ bedrooms or the master’s bedroom; we can have a look at a few ready-made suggestions.

This will save us time and also save us the worry of how the bedroom will look like once we have these painted with colors of our choice.

Birth Ideas & Children With Feng Shui

To boost your creative juices, become parents for the first time or again, and increase Metal energy, a look at the Creativity & Children part of your home is in order.

When the feng shui tic-tac-toe board is applied to your floor plan, it is the middle square on the right as you stand at your architectural front door or the entrance to a room, facing in.

This area of the feng shui grid or bagua represents both Creativity and Children because big ideas and babies have similar gestation periods.

Creativity. Perhaps you’d like to be more innovative in the marketing of your business, more resourceful in parenting your teenagers, or graceful in the designing of your home. Or maybe your life has been consumed with your work or your family and you have postponed artistic pursuits you used to love. Any symbol chosen because it represents creativity to you will stimulate the creativity you desire.

Children. If you would like one or more children, you will want to make sure this part of the grid is child-friendly and child-safe. That means a sculpture with pointed parts and rough edges is not recommended.

One client had a stuffed bunny which looked pregnant. Placed in the Children area of the Master Bedroom, it was a feng shui affirmation of her desire for another child. This along with several other adjustments we made brought the gift of a baby the following Christmas.

Metal energy.
Organized, honorable, logical, disciplined, analytical, gracious, elegant, and refined are some of a Metal person’s sterling qualities. They attend to precise tasks with meticulous care while they continue to be aware of their long term goals.

Clutter drives a Metal person crazy. People who are low in Metal energy tend to collect lots of stuff and often excessively so in this area of the grid. Clearing out this area, particularly, grows Metal energy and reaps Metal rewards.

Using Feng Shui Coins To Make Wealth Amulets

Posted by administrator On July - 13 - 2011Comments Off

The coins are usually made of bronze. They are used in odd numbers, such as 1, 3, 5, etc. The coins can be used in a wide number of ways – they can be carried as a necklace or bracelet, they can be used to make wealth amulets (wealth vase, money frog, money tree, etc.), and so on. In this article, we talk about wealth amulets that can be purchased or made using Chinese coins.

The easiest and most fashionable wealth amulets that one can have are necklaces and bracelets with coins. You can either purchase a talisman or make it yourself. It’s very easy to make. You will need several coins (as many as you wish) and a red ribbon. Simply attach the coins to the ribbon and start wearing it. If you wear a lanyard (such as to carry an ID card for work or school), you can attach the coins to the lanyard. Alternatively, you can hang the amulet in the southeast section of your home – the Wealth and Prosperity zone.

Another way to incorporate the coins is to make a wealth vase. The wealth vase is an extremely potent feng shui amulet that can attract material wellbeing to your home. Typically, it’s a white ceramic vase with paintings in blue, with a number of prosperity symbols placed inside. These symbols include: crystals, semiprecious gems, pictures with the symbols of wealth (houses, cars, gold bars), and others. Feng shui coins are one of the most essential ingredients to place into this vase. The vase needs to be placed in the Wealth and Prosperity zone of your bedroom.

You can also purchase wealth symbols that already have the coins incorporated into their design. One great symbol is a three-legged money frog. The frog is typically shown sitting on a pile of coins, holding one or three of them in its mouth. Some frogs come with a slit – you can purchase the coins and the toad individually, and insert the coins in its mouth. This symbol can also have the following design: the toad is sitting on the coins, and the god of wealth Liu Hai sits on top of the frog. According to ancient Chinese legends, Liu Hai conquered the frog and made it serve people.

You can also find wealth talismans with another god of wealth – Hotei, sitting on a pile of coins. Hotei was a happy monk who had an extraordinary ability – wherever he came, people would grow rich. This god of wealth has a large belly and charming smile. It’s a real pleasure to have Hotei sitting on feng shui coins in your home.

Finally, the feng shui coins can be used for the making of a money tree. You will need the following components: Chinese coins with holes, wire, play-dough, and a flower pot. The coins need to be placed on the wire in the form of tree branches. The branches need to be made to look like a tree. The tree is placed into the flower pot and secured with play-dough.

The most important aspect to remember is: the more time and creativity you place into the making of your wealth symbol, the more potent it will be.
